• To provide assessment and learning expertise as part of one or more cross-functional product teams. This may involve:
o Product specification design and revision (including task types and construct coverage)
o Content commissioning, working with freelance writers
o Content writing, according to the product specifications
o Content quality assurance (QA), including editing, vetting, and proofreading
o Content analysis, including interpretation of statistical data
o Inputting into research questions for product validation
o Test construction
o Involvement in mark scheme creation, grading, and other aspects of marking and results
o Production of relevant “lite” training materials and documentation (e.g. item writer guidelines, test specifications, etc.)
o The evaluation of competitor products/materials
• To support a culture of continuous improvement.
• To manage the delivery of high-quality assessment and learning products through work on specific qualifications/components from exam design, materials production, live use and marking/results.
• To ensure that question papers and key documentation are produced efficiently, in line with standard procedures, on time and to the highest standard of quality and accuracy.
• To ensure that marking, grading and results procedures for papers are carried out accurately and efficiently, meet English standards,and candidates receive reliable results.
• To contribute to business development initiatives by supporting the provision of information about English examinations.
• To monitor costs of materials production or project budgets.
• To map existing exams to client requirements and make suggestions for including the relevant assessment products in learning solutions for Higher Education Institutions, Schools, Private Language Schools and Skill Development Agencies.
• To plan and create Assessment products for the Employability segment.
• To plan and create new Assessment products to fill identified gaps in the market.
• Postgraduate degree in English / Linguistics / Teaching of English as a Second Language
• Higher level qualification in teaching or applied linguistics (to MA level) desirable
• Recognised post-entry level EFL teaching qualifications
• Excellent command of the English language
