Waaree Energies Ltd, one of India’s leading renewable energy companies, has announced the appointment of Jignesh Rathod as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO)-Designate, marking an important leadership transition within the organization. The appointment follows the resignation of the current CEO, Amit Paithankar, who will step down from his role effective May 15, 2026, or an earlier date as mutually agreed.
The decision was approved by Waaree Energies’ Board of Directors at its meeting held on December 29, 2025. During the transition period, Rathod will work closely with Paithankar to ensure continuity in leadership, strategy execution, and operational stability. Rathod is scheduled to formally assume charge as CEO and Key Managerial Personnel from May 16, 2026, subject to regulatory and internal approvals.
Amit Paithankar’s tenure at Waaree Energies has been marked by significant progress in operational efficiency, business expansion, and strategic positioning in India’s fast-growing renewable energy sector. The Board acknowledged his contribution in strengthening the company’s manufacturing capabilities and long-term growth roadmap.
Jignesh Rathod, who currently serves as Director – Operations, has been associated with Waaree Energies since November 2007. With over 18 years of experience within the organization, he brings deep institutional knowledge and operational expertise to the CEO role. Rathod has played a key role in scaling manufacturing operations, improving process efficiency, and driving technology adoption across the company’s facilities.
Academically, Rathod holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Gujarat University, an MBA for Working Executives from NMIMS, Mumbai, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from XIBMS. His strong blend of technical, managerial, and strategic capabilities positions him well to lead Waaree Energies through its next phase of growth.
