A reference letter is a document where a writer accesses a candidate’s skills, knowledge and other related characteristics. It is more of a general nature and therefore often starts with the line To whom it may concern.Any candidate while applying for a job interview, has to submit reference letters to support his or her application.
A professional reference letter is any recommendation for the candidate from his client, colleague, vendor or even former employer.
A good reference letter should include a paragraph on how the writer knows the candidate, the duration of their professional relationship and the evaluation of the skills of the candidate
Is it possible for friends to write a general reference letter?
Yes, anybody including your friends can write a general reference letter as they know about into your achievements better than others.
A reference letter for a job differs from a recommendation letter as the latter is specifically addressed to an individual, while recommending the candidate for a job.
