Is the HR need to be friendly or effective ?

HR need not be your friend to be effective. Service professionals (doctors, architects, attorneys, therapists, or accountants) need not be friends with their clients to be respected and able to execute their jobs. I don’t have to share hobbies, dinners, or birthdays with these individuals for them to support me through their expertise. Likewise, HR professionals do not need to be buddies with the individuals they serve in order to be effective..In fact, personal relationships may complicate what HR delivers. Three tips or advice about HR’s true role and how their expertise delivers real value. • First, navigate the paradox of employee well-being and organization competitiveness. • Second, quietly and fairly do your work – even in a transparent world. • Third, act with great speed, diligence, and discipline

HR needs to be smart enough balancing effectiveness with a friendly tone.If you use the general term friendly for HR Then please "DONOT" dare to be. Instead I would advice to build strong, smart professional relationship with fellow employees helping in "smooth and disciplined" functioning of organization.

The HR needs to carry a proper ratio of being friendly and being effective at the same time. Usually, over-friendliness may reduce the effectiveness an HR should have and strictness may establish the communication barrier between the employee and the HR. Hence, carrying a balance between both characters is essential.

Yes, HR needs to be friendly and effective. The behaviour of HR with other employees really impact the organisation' s environment. The employees usually interact with HR and they expect HR will listen to their opinions. HR needs to make every decision very carefully that will be in favour of employees as well as organisation.
