• Acquisition & List Building: Identify, acquire, and develop high-quality and commercially viable children’s book titles from both debut and established authors and illustrators.
• Editorial Oversight: Guide the editorial team through all stages of the publishing process — from concept development to final production — ensuring quality, creativity, and market relevance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with design, marketing, sales, publicity, and production teams to ensure the successful launch and lifecycle of each title.
• Market Awareness: Stay informed about trends in children’s literature, competitor activity, and emerging voices and illustrators in the field.
• Author Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with authors, illustrators, and literary agents.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and support junior editors and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive publishing culture.
