Job Description

Plan and manage inventory levels (Min/Max, Safety Stock, Reorder Points) based on demand and lead times.
Prepare stocking recommendations for parts and assemblies to ensure service continuity.
Coordinate inbound shipments (sea/air) and monitor clearance timelines.
Ensure compliance with Indian Customs regulations for imports (HSN classification, Bill of Entry, duty payment).
Handle BIS certification/QCO compliance for regulated products before import or sale.
Manage SIMS registration for steel imports as per DGFT guidelines.
Utilize AEO facilitation benefits (priority clearance, DPD/DPE) and maintain audit readiness.
Liaise with CHAs, freight forwarders, and internal teams for timely clearance and delivery.
Maintain dashboards for compliance (BIS, SIMS, AEO) and inventory KPIs.
Analyze slow-moving/obsolete inventory and implement corrective actions.
Required Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of Customs Act, CBIC procedures, and DGFT import policies. Hands-on experience with BIS certification schemes (ISI/FMCS/CRS).ISI – Indian Standards Institute (now part of BIS; ISI mark indicates compliance with Indian standards). FMCS – Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme (BIS scheme for certifying products manufactured outside India).CRS – Compulsory Registration Scheme (BIS scheme for electronics and IT products requiring mandatory registration before sale/import).Familiarity with SIMS portal and registration process. Awareness of AEO program tiers and benefits. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems SAP and ICEGATE basics. Advanced Excel and inventory analytics skills.
